WHAT ELSE DO YOU OFFER?
At The Yard we also offer Sports Massage, and ‘Chill Sessions’ utilising the sauna, Ice baths and hot tubs in Chill.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND DO YOU HAVE PARKING?
We are lucky to be in a private yard with lots of outdoor space around us. Look out for all of our events published here on on our Instagram. The yard is slowly developing and offering more and more to everyone.
Our Address is Wood Farm Knapwell CB23 4NS. We are 5 minutes from Cambourne and Bourn and 15 minutes from Cambridge and St Ives or St Neots. We have lots of free parking right outside the gym.
EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY:
Outtrain competition / event bookings are non refundable after 8 weeks prior to the event date. If a member of the team cannot take part you may find a replacement up to the start of the event.
WHAT STYLE OF WORKOUTS ARE THEY ?
Functional. Our workouts incorporate functional movements utilising ‘awkard’ equipment to test individuals and teams. There is always a combination of body weight and weighted movements with a strong functional training element. There may be running or swimming depending on locations. Typical equipment will be, free weights, kettlebells, battle ropes, sandbags, slam balls, rowers, ski ergs and assault bikes. Equipment and workouts will be different every time and will depend on location.
DO I NEED TO BE FIT TO JOIN A TEAM?
A basic to advanced level of fitness is required as there will be an element of endurance in the workouts. However no technical lifting experience is needed. Exercises and weights will be scaled for females and males. See event details for minimum weights. Due to the nature of it being a competition there will be no regressions for exercises. No reps are counted if a lift or exercise isn’t completed to standard.
During a team event it is important you work as a team to achieve the highest score, an element of strategic planning will help.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?
Minimum age is 18 years old for competitions and 16 years of age for the gym. There is no maximum age.
WHERE DO YOUR EVENTS TAKE PLACE?
Our events will vary in location and size. Follow our instagram to stay updated. Our planned events are feature on our website. We can also host events on your behalf if you are a gym, team or company that would like to hold a competition.

CAN I JOIN IF I’M NOT COMPETING?
All supporters are welcome to join our events. We will also be looking for volunteers to judge at our events. Of course Vendors are always welcome and we prefer to partner with small independents that are local to the event. If you are keen to get involved for a fun day of judging, please drop us an email.
DO YOU OFFER TRAINING BEFORE THE COMPETITIONS?
Yes, we offer group training on request. We can help you work as a team or train for a competition. Anything you want, we’ll tailor our training specifically to you.
We can also host a take over at your gym or club for your members and give them a taster of Outtrain - Email us to find out more about this., it'‘s a great way to get people ready and prepared for a competition or event.
All participants will be required to complete a waiver prior to taking part in the competition or training session.
